Why is this site called Gen215?

The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.

In Genesis 2:15, the first task of humanity was to “cultivate” the Garden of Eden, a place of intimate union with God. The word translated into English as “cultivate” is avad which means both “work” and “worship.” Here it represents our life-giving service of worship due to God.

Like our First Parents in Eden, we are called to cultivate and guard a place for the Lord in our lives. My apostolate is to help individuals and parishes cultivate the spiritual life through online teaching, conferences, parish missions, and staff development days. I hope that by “digging around” on my site, you may find nourishment and life for continued growth in your relationship with God.
